Her Story

My name is Mazuin Osman that’s one is shorter version laa, even shorter version is AWINZ… and a longer version is MAZUIN OSMAN @ STEPHEN JOHN CLARKE.. yeah its in my IC.. sigh… I know that someone gonna be proud of it and of course it comes with its cons as such to fill in form, I need to fill out my lengthy name and sometimes whenever I go for registration people will definitely ask me “hey, what races are you? Why your dad’s name like this?… and bla bla bla… so sometimes if they do not see my IC then I would just says that “yes, my dad or granddad is Arabic..” to shorter the conversation after they listen and see me speaks in Malay with Caucasian-look.

I do admit that my English is not as advanced as other people with European mom or dad or I would say mixed blood like me. It would be the matter of ENVIRONMENT, I stay in MALAYSIA, school in PUBLIC SCHOOLS (Malay schools), Mixed with MALAYSIAN friends, eat belacan – MALAYSIAN FOOD, swallow MALAYSIAN KING OF FRUITS – Durian and etc that involves with MALAYSIAN.

I’ve been brought up mostly by my mom and we seldom speaks english at home. Yes, but I do love to watch ENGLISH MOVIES, DRAMA and even CARTOONS at channels Singapore. Maybe that’s improved my english I supposed .. I rarely meet my dad only couple of times a year.

Papa was British Army in REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) based in UK. Even when he was small, his passion was mechanical whereas he likes to explore new things and repairing bicycle and any automated vehicle available in the house. Not mentioning on repairing the household appliances and any pipe broken or bulb blown out or short of wire – he will definitely fix it! He really enjoying his career and work as Mechanical engineer. My mom told he once get the offer to be promoted in rank as a Mejar in the army force however he rejected the offer and be Sergeant in his troop because of his interest in doing work outdoor not facing any documents, filings that involved with office work and desk work. I thought having the same character as him after I reached 24 years of my age… I’ve started behaving like him, I love to repair pipes, anything that are broken I would love to fix it!! Trust me.. most of them can be repaired.. several of them .. bye bye to rubbish bin.. hehe

My mom aka mak aka mama is a housewife – taking us to school by driving her red Toyota corolla that was same age as me – bought in 1981.
